A short guide
One to two weeks is usually right. It gives friends time to keep the evening free without feeling formal. For a weekend in December or summer, when calendars fill, send it two to three weeks ahead. Among close friends, a few days’ notice is fine for something small and spontaneous.
Keep it to a few lines in your own voice: what is happening, when, where and what to bring. A tone such as “Pizza and board games at ours on Friday from 7, bring a friend” tells guests everything. Still add a reply-by date, so you know how much food to get.
Give the backup plan with the main one, for example “If it rains, we’ll move inside to our place” or “Rain date: Sunday, same time.” Say when you will decide and how you will let guests know. Mention sunscreen, chairs or blankets if guests should bring their own.
Yes. Share one link in the group chat and anyone who replies through it joins your guest list, so you see who is coming by name. If you would rather know exactly who has opened it, send each guest their own personal link instead.

Tell us the occasion, the colours and the mood. Design Genie, our AI designer, drafts one invitation with painted artwork and characters that come alive, usually in under ten minutes; ask for a revision if you like, and fill in the details as usual. $19.99 when you publish; nothing to pay to see the drafts.
