Designs for the Nikah and the Walima, with room for the Bismillah, both families and each event's own time, venue and replies. Guests open it on their phones and answer in a tap.
A short guide
Begin with the Bismillah, then a short line inviting guests, the bride’s and groom’s names with their parents’ names, and the date, time and venue of the Nikah. Add the Walima and any other events with their own details. Many families close with a request for duas and the names of the hosts.
The Nikah is the marriage contract itself, made with the consent of both, witnesses and the mahr, often led by an imam. The Walima is the wedding feast that celebrates the marriage afterwards, traditionally hosted by the groom and his family. It may be the same day, the next day or later.
The most common is Surah Ar-Rum 30:21: “And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between you.” Some families choose Surah An-Nisa 4:1 or a short dua for the couple instead.
Either works. One invitation listing both events suits a family where everyone is invited to everything. Separate invitations suit a smaller Nikah and a larger Walima, or events hosted by different sides of the family. Whatever you choose, give each event its own date, time, venue and reply.
